Where did the Monsters go?

Some interesting developments have been reported near the old Fractonium mine…

Mysterious machines

A strange device has appeared in Fractionland and it could be related to the disappearing monsters. It's not clear how the device works, but it feels a lot like solving a puzzle.

Slice, swipe, and tap to learn about equal shares, fractional notation, and terms such as 'halves, thirds, fourths' etc.

This activity aligns with the CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.NF.A.1 common core standard.

Fractions are flying

Uh-oh, an inter-dimensional portal has appeared and zombie-monsters are coming fast! Luckily, you have a catapult and lots of Fractonium - an antidote for zombies.

This is all about placing fractions on a number line…with the added excitement of zombie-monsters.

This activity aligns with the CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.NF.A.2.A common core standard.

Clues in caverns

A suspicious character was seen entering the Fractonium mine - a network of tunnels and chambers deep below the surface of Fractionland. Follow the trail, collect clues, and identify the suspect.

Completing this challenge is more than a typical assessment, it’s an'exit ticket' out of the mine.

This activity aligns with the CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.NF.A.3.D common core standard.
